Mondo if you dont mind what is the rate/dia/and length of your springs? Also how do you plan on making the dies. I must and very nice table and such a clean space. Lucky for me my garage isn't used for any cars, only my stuff. Thanks TomNote to self.......The jacket in the avatar pic is Not for welding....EVER
Reply:Hello Tom37:Sorry I missed your inquiry when posted...Springs are 5"L x 1" dia.  I have no idea what the other specs are, I found them in an ACE hardware store.  They looked to be about the right size for my application and for about $3 each I gave 'em a try.Dies:  Two angle irons welded to a flat with two more flats welded downwards with 1/4" threaded holes so I can use a 1/4" bolt to 'pinch" the  die to the rectangular anvil.  Similar for the upper die, a flat welded between two angles such that is comes down like a guilliotine blade into the angles below.  There was another posting to this forum that provided the inspiration.  I will see if I can find it.Member, AWSLincoln ProMIG 140Lincoln AC TombstoneCraftsman Lathe 12 x 24 c1935Atlas MFC Horizontal MillCraftsman Commercial Lathe 12 x 36 c1970- - - I'll just keep on keepin' on.
