I started out the week making some control arm links from mild steel tubing:For the same customer I also got to weld up some billet aluminum oil filter adapters. These took some healthy preheat with the rosebud!I REALLY gotta get or build a welding positioner! One would have worked great on the bungs in the one end of the control arms and on the filter adpaters.

Reply:Awesome welds on the aluminum. ONE pass?I tried to buy positioners off Ebone and had no luck. After an Atlas 200 lb went for $750, I just bought a new one with chuck and all. I use it more than I thought I would.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
