Reply:I plan to thread some hole throughout the table so I can bold down a drill press and clamp down my work as I weld.  I also am working on leveling bolts so I can take it to jobsites with out of level and uneven ground.Thanks Tanglediver!  I can't take all the credit. Reply:is this a 4'X8' table?  looks nice.  I would think twice about having an open threaded part on the table as spatter and such can ruin that very quickly.

Reply:That is a real nice table,, my little pathetic attempt does not come close!!  However,, may I make a safety suggestion??  I have dealt with electricity since I was a boy,, got my electricians license at the old age of 14!!  Anyway,, I would advise a little more protect around that multi-outlet you have on the front,, that little V channel isn't enough ,, if a plug just barely comes out and a small piece of wire or scrap slides down the table you are going to see more than just a little fireworks!!  I would weld a small gauge "box" around the outlet that protrudes just pass the cords heads,, this would keep out trash and hide any slightly exposed connectors from zaps or fingers!!
Reply:I was thinking the same thing about the outlet box.  I mounted mine under the table (outlets facing down) and it's still easy to plug in.  Looks like a 1/4" top plate? Reply:That is a good idea to weld the box around the outlet.  I think I will do that.The table top is 3/8".

Reply:If you can figure out how to do it I would weld a little hood over the plugs that tilted up so you wouldn't have to bend over to plug something in.  Just lift the hood plug stuff in and the hood then drops back down protecting plugs.  You could really cover the plugs well that way.
Reply:Dilworth Boy,I got the plans from the Miller website.  I just modified them to fit my needs.
Reply:The table looks nice. You might want to put a shelf under the top a little ways so you will have a place to put grinders while your working and still keep them handy.

Reply:Bob,I do plan on putting shelves and some allthread on each corner to level it on uneven ground.  I have been so busy lately now that my work saw that I have a welding table in my garage I have had floods of work from them.  I kinda like this commute.  Being positioned in Los Angeles the commute to my garage saves me almost 2 hours a day.  Another added bonus is that when I want to work late and be on the clock because something needs to be done I can drink beer (when safety permits) Dillworth, Westlawn is correct.  That is exactly where I the design.
