Was checking out some kennels at the local hardware store today. Looking closely at the joints, I think they were brazed. As they were bronze in color. Is brazing strong enough for this kind of joint. If so...How is it done? Thanks a million, Sonny
Reply:Yes brazing will work in that situation. I have seen some of the fence companies here do it when they had no one that knew how to weld. I would still reccomend welding it if possible. As far as how it is done you use a torch to heat the material until the brass rod flows out and bonds to the matierial you are joining. Brazing is a bonding process and not a fusion process like welding is. Not my favorite thing to do but I have patched some galvanized irrigation fitting with brass. ~Jackson
