I am looking to buy a Miller 251 with a spool gun. I got a price from a local dealer for the welder with a 3545 spool gun. Then, I read in the literature that the 3545 gun is "not recommend" for that welder. Anyone know why that gun is not recommended? Also, the price quoted is $1950 for the welder and $547 for the spool gun. Seems reasonable to me. What do you guys think?DougDoug
Reply:Not really sure why. I would recommend the profax spool gun instead. I have used both and miller does not compareprofax spool gun
Reply:Kepp in mind I own a welding business and buy alot of supplies, but when I was pricing migs in this range for my shop. On a mm 251 i was told $1800.00 on the machine. The reason i remember was there was only $11.00 difference in my quoted price between the lincoln i bought and the miller. The machine/spool gun combo package for the miller was in the $2200.00-$2300.00 range. Keep pushing, and they probably will knock off some more. Personally if that machine is the one you want take $2200.00 cash in and I doubt if you will leave empty handed. I have learned to buy welders like cars. Shop around and don't be afraid to haggle with them. Good luck ~JacksonI'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:i ran a 30a spool gun off my mm251 and it did pretty good i just sold my spool gun due to i needed the capabilities of the tig machine. the 30a is supposed to be millers top of the line spool gun and if you went with a miller gun thats the one i would reccomend
Reply:HTP has a spool gun - the RSG 250. Looks like alot like the Lincoln Magnum SG spool gun. I think it is more along the lines of the Spoolmatic 30.I heard you can get their MIG 2400 with the RSG 250 for about $1900. Their 2400 has a 4 roll wire feeder. |
