Lots of little projects are only really useful to get practice for the bigger jobs. While I was training so furiously with learning to use the mig welder, I tacked all my cheapo universal joints. The pins always pop out and I need these to keep going until they are replaced with better ones. All in good time! Tig would have been ideal for this job, or better yet, I could replace them with Snap~On Tools...eventually. Yes , I see the porosity too! City of L.A. Reply:get a set of craftsman, ive used snap on swivels, theyre not worth the money...
Reply:My Snap-On impact swivels are the best swivels I have used to date.
Reply:snap on impact stuff is really nice, but standard chrome swivels are not worth the money compared to craftsman, in my opinion
Reply:I got a set of the snap on impact swivels over 10 years ago and I love them. I have never tried the craftsman swivels, but all my other tools are craftsman.Build a Barstool Racer at BarFlyRacers.com!
Reply:Almost anything 'impact' will last forever unless you are severely abusing it in a way it was not meant to be used. I bought a couple sets (SAE & Metric) of no-name-brand impact sockets off Ebay for $20 shipped, and have used them quite extensively with my 600ft-lb, and my buddies 1200ft-lb impact...and they hold up just fine!Good idea Danny! Reply:i agree with cheap impacts, i have expensive high end impacts and cheapos from harbor freight. the cheap ones work just as well as the high end ones. I hammer on both my 3/8 and 1/2 stuff with ingersoll rand air guns rated at 280 and 1000 ft lbs |
