It's been ongoing for awhile now, and I'll get better pictures tomorrow. We picked up a welder today, got the machine all setup, and with the help of a tow truck driver (65 bucks, well worth it!), got the machine moved and mounted to the skid.  After we got it all setup and mounted, we went and filled/fired her up in the 7-11 parking lot at around 10:00pm tonight!  It was a good afternoon project, and a long time coming to this point!  Mounting the machine was a good project for the old man and I.  I havn't tried it out yet as I have to finish off the cables, but I'm stoked. Still needs a bottle rack, but that shouldn't be to hard!Last edited by mb_welder; 05-17-2008 at 01:42 AM.
Reply:Nice machine!  Read the owners manual, it sez 2 or 3 feet clearance behind the machine.  Air flow goes in and out the back and front.Have a ball with it. DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:sweet bro, slurpee and a coupla beads!
Reply:He should be fine like that David.  Plent of airflow through the louvres to cool down the engine.  I have ran my Ranger 250 like that, and also lengthwise in the bed, stuffed right up against the front of the box (I know - not the wisest) with no ill effects. My next one will be the 305G.  I am green with envy.  Get some cable on that sweetheart, and hang a licken' on it.  Post lots of pics.  No, I don't need to know what it can do - I wanna see what you can do with the Ranger.Carry on.Later,Jason
Reply:It's got plenty of air flow, that's for sure.  It's nice, because how I have it, all the important access panels are easy to get at.I'll get some more pics, and finish those cables off.  I'm dying to try it out, but probably won't get around to that until monday at the earliest (wedding receptions, dern it!)
Reply:Cables are done, and I got some better pics!
Reply:Nice looking rig....Are you going to run a truck box for the cables to keep wandering hands from them?  I know i've looked at that for a trailer I'm thinking about building...Run whatcha brung...otherwise watch...
Reply:go see your minister, priest or rabbi and get him to pray. i love a silverado, but them raggedy azz 700-R4 cannot handle the weight on a day to day basis. when it the transmission goes get a HD tranny from monster transmission. it will be well worth it."Retreat hell, were just fighting in the other direction"Miller Trailblazer 302, Extreme 12 VS, Dimension 400, Spectrum 375, HF 251D-1, Milermatic 251 w/ spoolgun  Hypertherm 1000Lincoln sp 1702000 F-450 to haul it
Reply:I have no idea what you just said, but I'll take your word for it if it comes to that.  I'm keeping the cables in the black greenlee box (it's still green inside, lol).  I want to build a removable cable rack in the greenlee box or something so I can pull them out to use them, and then store them safely from the copper nazi's.Last edited by mb_welder; 05-18-2008 at 10:45 PM.
