Im looking for a smaller Gas Drive DC welder for practice at home, and the genny would be nice just in case...Im down too two, - 1st, Lincoln Weldanpower 225 AC/DC, looks purty, but seller states carb or brushes are faulty.- Onan engine2nd, Hobart G-213, old dog. 230amp DC only, 3.5K genny. Wisconsin TJD engine. Both are bout same price, Im kind of digging the old Hobart, neither have leads...Would appreciate any thoughts or feedback..Lincoln Power MIG 210 MP ( boat anchor )Lincoln Weld-Pac 100 HDHobart IronMan 230Cutmaster 42Jackson NexGenSumner Ultra ClampsDWM120
Reply:Personally, I think I'd keep looking. You are taking a shot in the dark with the Lincoln if it has issues and that old Hobart is likely a pit to throw money into. I am thinking that neither has much generator availible, I may be wrong about that though. What kind of budget do you have for a gen/welder?StephenMillermatic 251Miller Syncrowave 200Miller 30A SpoolgunHypertherm Powermax 30Etc., etc., etc.............Cancer Sucks!
Reply:Lincoln is 6kw. I cant find much for the Wisconsin engines, so I think Im gonna look at the Lincoln. If price is right, Ill grab it. I know Briggs motors, and Im not shy of tearing into things.Just wondered if anyone heard of the Hobart, seems rare, and rare= $$$ too fix..Lincoln Power MIG 210 MP ( boat anchor )Lincoln Weld-Pac 100 HDHobart IronMan 230Cutmaster 42Jackson NexGenSumner Ultra ClampsDWM120
Reply:Both will be expensive if it comes to engine work. Another vote to keep looking.Tough as nails and damn near as smart
