Due to me living out a little ways and no classes for adult ed being close by, I'm looking for a tutor to learn some welding basics. Picked up a Lincoln 135, looking to do auto related stuff for now. Maybe graduate into fabbing for my Jeeps eventually.Anyhow, live in Culpeper, Virginia, about a hour S/SW of DC.Thanks,Blair
Reply:Northern VA community college has welding courses in the Manassas campus. Never took any of it but I saw it when looking over their catalog.Learning oxyacetylene welding on my own.
Reply:Too bad I am not still in Chantilly. Woulda been glad to help ya out. Went to Culpeper all the time.
Reply:I live in Montpelier, hanover county.Just bought a new place ,but give me a while to get things set up and i will be glad to help you out.I dont claim to be the best welder in the world ,but I dont do to bad.I have a Miller trailblazer and a lincoln mig welder.I have an uncle in Remington ,not far from you,but he cant weld a lick .I do most of his welding.
Reply:THe next time i head up to my Uncles i will post on here ,and maybe we can get togather for a little while. It doesnt take long to pick up mig welding,id start off with fluxcore wire as you waste a lot of gas learning.get some 1/8 flat bar ,make several tee joints and start burning away. |
