Opinion on a Miller Thunderbolt XL stick

Ive been poking around looking for one....caught it in my local craigslist....He says its been used twice, good as new.....AC/DCComes with two masks, leather hacket, gloves, long lead, and a hammer....$425 bucks.....Good deal?Thanks!

Reply:Ya, the guy said that it is two years old.....meaning (I assume) that it has still got another year under warranty....I am also looking for a new mask/new jacket/etc that he says comes with it.....all that stuff (that I need to buy otherwise) pry is worth at least 100 bucks, dont you think?I have looked on Ebay, but buying something like this sight unseen kinda makes me nervous.  Im supposed to be in touch with the guy a bit later.....Thanks for the help
Reply:that sounds like a fair price. i have a miller thunderbolt from the mid 90's i think. still works great. not in the greatest shape but runs flawlessly. the only reason i say fair price is mine was given to me by my uncle. i dont know for sure what one costs. im sure you will be happy with it though
Reply:Well, it looks like the guy wanted 425 for the welder, and an extra 125 for the other goods.....I offered him 400 fot it all, and he said no.I found another one.....I got the guy down to 350 but I have no idea what condition the thing is in......so nothing definite.  He says his uncle passed and they are cleaning garage....for all I know it could be stolen.

Reply:I got my old ac Thunderbolt from the bottom of a pile of flood debris right after the great flood of 92' here in Jersey. I cleaned it up and it worked fine ever since. Funny thing is the fan on that thing burned out and I never realized it but it kept working anyway for I don't know how long. I just stuck a fan from a burned out plasma cutter in it recently and painted it because the wifes damn cats pissed all over it and made it rusty. Thunderbolts are great, you can't kill em' with a stick.
