I've spent lots of hours tig welding aluminum scraps, and some days it seems like a good weld is easy to produce repeatedly. Then I'll setup the machine on another day, and can't seem to get started without dipping the tungsten, or popping the filler rod right into the electrode and making another mess. I get sooo pi$$ed! It's like my hand-eye coordination is almost completely unresponsive to my mental input. Just 5 minutes ago, I walked away from the welding machine and typed out this topic to see if others out there have had this happen to them too, because misery loves company! And I'd like some company right now.... sniff.

Reply:The production welder is usually the most consistant because he does it all the time.  When I worked at UTL Corp. in Dallas, Texas several years ago, I  would on an average fab up ten or twenty parts at a time.  When I welded them up, the first one was usually the least pretty part.  It's like you have to get in the groove.  Practice, practice, practice.  Do not give up!
Reply:Come on guys your suppost to say nope its never happened to me  Ok i might have had a day like that lol
