Torch problem

I have a small o/a combo torch and every time i shut it off it pops or even back flashes a little bit. This is happening with both the welding and cutting tips, i am shutting off the gas first and the 02 second. This is the only torch i have ever used that has done this and it is getting quite annoying. Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be wrong?
Reply:Make sure your pressures are set correctly. Believe half of what you read and none of what you hear.
Reply:I always turn ON the acetylene FIRST, and turn OFF the acetylene LAST (in the reverse order of turning them on) and I don't get that problem much...although it seems like about half of all people turn the gases off in that order, and half of all people turn them off in the reverse order...so I don't know.When you shut off the torch, maybe try turning off the oxygen first, so that you get an orange sooty acetylene flame (like when you lit it up) and then shut off the acetylene last and see if that stops the popping.
