Thanks to the help of alot of you & a mind clear of beer, I can now post pics! Thanks again to everyone & sorry To have been a burden.I am a new welder. Self taught by this site & practice so all criticism is welcome.Pic 1 & 2 are some practice beads - There were more plates before & after but I just had these. Pic 1 you will notice a change from the right side to the left. I had been trying to get that stack of dimes look, and heard somewhere for the beginner to forget that & just lay down straight beads, hence the change. Pic 2 is more of the straight beads. Shortly after this I started sticking things together (no pics) until I was able to accomplish that to a satisfactory level.Rest of pics of my 1st project (welding table), which Naudi2U posted for me, but I will try to get in 1 place. The last pic shows my bender on a support I built that slides into the open end of my frame. I also built one for my bench grinder. Thanks again,Brian
Reply:Nice table.  I like the locking casters.  Makes a small space workable.
Reply:Right about the casters. Pretty tight area. Double lock swivel casters on all 4 so I can spin it in any direction & lock it down tight. Does pretty well if I need to take it out in the driveway also. Thanks for the comment.
Reply:What are the demensions on your table? I need to build a table. Thanks
Reply:wow nice work table   or I should say work station weld it like you own it

Reply:Thanks for the comments!By all means use what you want. I got all the ideas for this table from looking at other projects on this site & customizing to suit my needs.Table:Top - 3' x 4' x 1/2" plate.Legs & top frame - 2" x 1/4" square tubing. Top frame is 33" wide x 45" long ( this gives me a 1-1/2" overhang all the way around on the top) & has a cross brace in the center just for extra support. Legs are 28" high plus 1/8" plates for mounting casters. The top frame was welded on top of the legs making the frame height 30-1/8 ". Used 3" double lock swivel casters all the around. With the top & casters added the overall height of the table is 33 & 5/8. I am only 5'7" tall so this is a pretty good height for me. you may want to adjust leg height depending on your size. The bottom shelf frame is just old bed rails welded to the inside of the legs. Used 1/8" thick plate as shelf.  Hangers on each end  for the grinders & clamps are 1/8" x 1/2" flat bar.Welded an outlet on & welded some hangers to wrap the cord around.Hope this makes sense. Let me know if you need any other information.Brian_______________________________1) MM 211mvp w/ spoolgun2) Lincoln A/C-2253) Radnor O/P
Reply:Holy Crap.!!  I was just lookin' up some weights/sq. foot in my chart.  That baby weighs near 500 lb. give or take.  That's one stout table.  Gee whiz!!
Reply:Yeah, maybe a little overkill! Now you know why I have 4 swivel casters! I was getting worried when I was putting the top on (about 245 lbs.) that I would have problems moving the table around, but it actually rolls very well.Brian_______________________________1) MM 211mvp w/ spoolgun2) Lincoln A/C-2253) Radnor O/P
Reply:your stringers look pretty good. nice table toohttp://www.aloumac.ca/
Reply:Your welds show marked improvement, your practice is paying off. Nice table; er... bomb shelter!!!!And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
Reply:Thanks guys for the comments!I do live in Tornado Alley, it might be safer under the table than in the basement!I always tend to overbuild things. Cant tell from the pics, but my wood bench is more solid than my house!I do know I still have tons to learn, so thanks for the input on my beads, & yes I will definately keep practicing!Brian_______________________________1) MM 211mvp w/ spoolgun2) Lincoln A/C-2253) Radnor O/P
