The first stupid question..... I have some welding experiance and I am trying to learn more as I go. I noticed that some welders are called TIG welders and others are DC welders, what is the major differences between the two?
Reply:most arc welders can run dc posative or dc negative...smaw..(stick welders)tig machines can run dc pos..dc neg.. plus ac..gtawstick machines use a rod with the flux coating on the rod..tig welding requires a tungeston "stick" to produce heat and a gas (argon.. helium.. co2) to do the job of the flux and the filler material is added by hand..tig is much cleaner than stick..but there are times only a stick welder will do......zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
