Horse snout

Here's my second try at this post..A customer came in with a horse door knocker and wanted me to build the missing piece of horse nose for him.  So I pounded out some copper(first time) and brazed it on.  It was kinda fun working with copper because it's so easy to manipulate. It's not perfect, but I think it was pass.  It took me about 1 hour total. Attached ImagesCommon sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.

Reply:The original was copper and not brass/bronze?Any plan to develop the patina on it to match the rest of the 'beast'?  And how well would braze develop the patina?  (I don't know, all the brass/bronze brazing I've seen/done still looks like brass/bronze slightly discolored maybe). Pretty good work for one hour of tapping on some copper sheet!    The best laid schemes ... Gang oft agley ...

Reply:Refreshingly different and it looks like a good matching repair. I've only ever made a copper bowl at school and it was fun. I've often thought I'd like to do more but have never gotten round to it. I can't see from the photos but did you have to raise the veins in your section?
