hidoes annybody know if one of these would be powerful enough for building small gates, railings, trailers etc as it says on the site that with gas (not flux cored) the max thickness of steel is 2.5mm! does this mean it is no good for say 50x50x6 angle iron frames for eg. regardsdonna
Reply:That welder should do nicely. The 6mm thick stuff will need a bevel and multiple passes for a full strength weld. If you run flux core it weld little thicker than argon co2 mix. straight co2 will run hotter than mixed gas but not as hot a fluxcore.DennisThermal Arc 185-TSWMillermatic Challenger 172VictorO/AAtlas Craftsman 12 by 24 LatheEsab PCM-875Wholesalem Tool Mill-Drill |
