It isn't technically a welding project, but it is welding related!  I havn't actually sat down and drawn anything in almost two years now.  Let me know what you think! I wanted to keep it simplistic, so that's my excuse for forgetting to draw the tensioner knobs!and the link to the large version! I got my scanner working, so I figured I'd play with it a bit!  You can see the pen strokeshttp://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y23...urrent=001.jpgI actually drew two versions, the first was a rough pencil sketch, then the second was a careful trace of the first one.  I wanted it to look like a woodcut, as I'm a fan of the particular style! Thanks for looking!Last edited by mb_welder; 11-24-2008 at 05:54 AM.
Reply:I think it's good.  Forget about technically correct stuff.  It's all about artistic license"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:Nice work.  I like that.
Reply:RE the tensioner knobs..............Ever see a really good nude painting??  Whaddya wanna bet the model had a REALLY big pimple on her butt???  But you don't see it in the painting"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:Don't sweat the small stuff. Anyone can see exactly what the sketch depicts. It doesn't have to be photo realistic to be understood. It's good, you have talent.I used to draw a lot and really enjoyed it. Wish I still could.
Reply:I call it "Artistic Expression"....it looks like that because your the artist and it's your choice. Good job, I like it too.If you don't want to stand behind our Troops, feel free to stand in front of them.

Reply:I think it's great. I couldn't draw a straight line with a ruler.
Reply:Art school drop out turned welder, lol.  It was pretty relaxing to come up with.  In the original drawing, he was wearing a hoodie, but the hood looked more like an oxygen tank, but thanks to the marvels of "paintbrush" it was an easy fix! Thanks for the positive feedback!Though I must admit that I missed a line on the "I" beam he is sitting on (or more accurately, had one line to many!)I want to do one of a pipeline welder when I have the time again, it was fun!  I made an "AWS" background from it for my 'puter, methinks I should do a Weldingweb one!  Last edited by mb_welder; 11-25-2008 at 08:24 AM.
