Free Trailler Dolly

Well I was driving around town shopping and doing my usual sight seeing to see what kind of scrap steel people were throwing out.I came about this old appliance dolly that someone was throwing out. Sure it was a piece of rust and it did roll well.Threw it in back of truck and drove off happy.Now I have always wanted a trailer dolly for moving my car hauler around both the yard and the rv shop. We have been using a fork lift but there's spots it just can't get into or those times you only need to move a trailer a couple of feet to another space.I took the old wheels off  (not easy to do they were rusted right on). Cut off the flat lifting portion of the dolly. Sliced off the ends to make it fit into the center portion of the dolly. Then moved that cut off portion up so the new larger wheels would clear. Took one of the cut off ends centered it on the center portion an welded it in place. Bend the cut off portion level with the dolly platform then welded it in place. Used a small washer I tacked to the platform to be my guide for cutting the trailer ball shank hole with my plasma cutter. Cut hole, mounted trailer ball and you got it  semi instant and semi free trailer dolly.Cost $4.11 trailer ball and two wheels with tires $9.00. Got both at Tractor Supply. And the dolly works GREAT. Reply:Yeah was pushing limits of my Century 135GL mig welder ,75/25 mix. That metal was pretty badly rusted and pitted. Reply:Fold down wheel would keep the thing from wanting to over lever one way or another.  Way it is now I imagine you have to play a constant balance game with the amount of pressure applied on the handles of the dolly.  Too much she goes up, too little it starts goin the other way.  Shmart idea"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:Yep I do my bit for recycling.And yes 1st use it was a balancing acting moving that dolly around trying to keep it level. Which is why I decided to add the stablizing arm.
