Whats up y'all I have to take a vertical flux core test on 3/8's plate with a backing strip dont know what the gap size is, the wire is .045, with miller welders. I have run up hill flux before but I cant remember the settings. Does anyone know what would be a good setting to start with? And It will be x-rayed so any helpful tips would be appreciated.
Reply:Depending on the gas and the particular wire, you might start at 23 volts and 200 IPM. You will need to fine tune, but that is a pretty good starting point for gas shielded fcaw. On the other hand, if it is self-shielding, try 16 volts and 125 IPM. You will still need to fine tune. You didn't say if it was vert-up or vert-down, so the settings I listed are vert-up.
Reply:thanks its vert-up dual shield
Reply:good luck on the test. |
