ok i welder (3) 9'' plates of stainless the other day with no shielding gas at all. they actually looked really good.it didnt leave that black sooty looking crap on them that the c25 leaves. the reason i didnt realize the gas was off is because they didnt show porosity like a normal weld. i bent one of the plates and the weld did not fail but i didnt bend it like you would a coupon.
Reply:Is this a true story??...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:I gotta assume he used a flux core or coated rod. My LWS carries 3/32 and 1/8 stainless rods. I have some just in case.... Like when I string the little maxstat 200ft on 110 extension cords. Then again he did mention c25 on stainless... Good for a nice gray weld.Con Fuse!Miller Dynasty 350Millermatic 350P-Spoolmatic 30AMiller Multimatic 200Hypertherm PowerMax 1000G3Miller Maxstar 200DX
Reply:If your talking about using dual shield stainless wire, Yes i have done it by accident before by forgetting to turn on the gas and it did weld just fine with no pin holes but i wouldn't recomend it at all.Ya gotta spend money to make money!

Reply:Hey Rizz01,I don't know what your welding experience is, although it would appear very minimal, but your projection of not being able to use 98/2 is quite full of s**t. I use C2(98/2) for all the stainless repairs I do on restaurant equipment weekly. Much of these repairs will be with material up to 3/16" thickness & I've never had a return for a failed weld. I also have tri-mix in the shop for appropriate usage. I would suggest you do some homework.DennyComplete Welding/Machine/Fab.
