I am building a "brew sculpture" as shown in the picture below. The top tank will weigh a maximum of 125 lbs,the middle section on mine will have a picnic cooler with a maximum weight of 50 lbs and the bottom or lowest section will have a maximum of 80 lbs. I have access to 1 1/4" x 1/8" angle iron. Assuming I did a good job of welding, would this size angle iron be suitable for this cart. BTW, it will be moved 5-6 feet forward and back once or twice a month and only when the tanks are empty.

Reply:Water weighs roughly 8 1/2 lbs per gallon. Mine is a "5gallon" system but the upper tank will typically have 10 gallons in it when brewing and the lower tank about 8 gallons. |
