Meltdown!!!!

Ok..My turn for the "bonehead play of the day!!"  Today i did exactly what i had told my first class to watch out for.. Always be aware of where things are at all times..Like the chair legand the torch hoses..see where i'm going here?I went thru the procedure as i always do.."gas on?"..check"water on?"..check"water flowing?..check(i have a clear tube for the water exhaust so i can see that its flowing when i hit the pedal)ok all's good lets weld..300 amps..D.C."Hmmm" i said under my mask.."i need to move over about a foot..."well i did and promptly put the stool leg right on the water tube..1 pass later i knew "that smell"  this thing burned up SO FAST...i was kiking myself in the keester right away..Wog802 was down front and could smell it too  Jeesh!!!Just goes to show you that one must be aware at all times..but i did salvage one part..this is still good..so if i run the torch body over at least i have a spare..oh well crap happens... ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:Good one!How did you come across the nickname ZAP?  Sort of a similar thing occurs when you forget to connect your ground lead to the portable turntable.  The welding current has nowhere to go but up the 110V cord that powers the turntable!  Not too serious, just smokes the cord.

Reply:Thing like that tend to happen on a saturday when it's gotta get done today. My assistant wonders why I have 2 of most everything.Tough as nails and damn near as smart
