Hello--I am very inexperienced in metal-cutting and am looking to purchase a cutter to use at home to cut brass & wood to start--possibly other materials eventually. The materials I'm cutting would be mostly approx 1-2mm thick, up to maybe 1cm. I would be cutting various shapes, including outlines of countries, from about 3/4" tall and up.For example:Please advise. Reply:It would help if you could edit your post (the button is near the bottom right, and works for something over an hour, IIRC) and resize your photo so the text isn't cut off. It first gives a 'simple" edit window; then click the 'advanced' button and next the 'attachment button, finally remove the one shot, resize it and repost its new version.As for cutting small concave pockets like that, I'd guess a "nibbler", either air or electric powered, would be the best bet. Or, if you have lots of similar parts to make, a die set and a press to use as a punch. The parts look fairly small without a reference in the picture; how large are they?Edit:   Guess that's your hand in the picture; yes, a very fine bandsaw or jig saw would also do.
