Mazda 6 rear seat brace

I have a Mazda 6s hatchback as my daily driver, i am part of 6crew.com for mazda6 enthusiasts , and have started to design and fab up some bracing for the guys that do racing and auto crossing. I bent up some tube for a rear seat brace which tightens up the rear (especially in a hatch since it has no rear deck like a sedan). I also made it so the top piece comes out so you can still take full advantage of the hatch(see pic)I am also laying out some subframe connectors for them now, just waiting for my plasma cutter to get in (went with everlast) so i can test it out on the mounting plates.and an idea for cross bracing for the guys that don't need to have the top piece removable
Reply:That's pretty sharp. Got any pics of how it bolts in?
Reply:The fourth picture has what you called cross bracing which I assume are the inside "s" pieces. I would recommend making these straight bars for proper triangulation. There won't be much lateral strength in the curved pieces in the event of a side impact and they may even allow for flex in normal loads.Lee TiltonSCCA F500 Pilot
