I'm in the process of seperating the rotor from the engine. I have followed the steps posted by KSELLON on AWS forum. When I got to step 8, which is removing the bolts connecting the exciter bracket to the main gen housing, I noticed a cut out on part of the exciter bracket and a small square head bolt on top of the bearing housing. Is this a lube point or is it a screw to keep something secure? Does it need to come out before pulling the exciter bracket from the main housing? So far every thing is going as planned and directions have been spot on. I'll try to get some pics on here when I get it pulled apart.
