I spent some time at the LWS today, and they told me they are starting to carry Washington alloy rods and I should try them. The company had a salesman there and he gave me 10# of 6010 1/8" and 10# of 7018 1/8". (he also gave me a tshirt and 2 new hats. Score.) The guy told me to just try them out and let him know what I thought of his company's rods. Any of you guys ever used any of these?Go Cards!!!!!
Reply:Run the other way. The last time I use that stuff was when I took welding classes and they had plenty of it. No where near as smooth as any Lincoln, Esab or Hobart. Since you have try it out and see if it has changed.
Reply:Haven't tried their rods but I like their flux core wire.
Reply:I am using both the Washington 1/8" 7014 and 1/8" 6011. I liked the first 5 lbs. of 7014 so well that I bought 5 lbs. 6011 when I bought my next 5 lbs. of 7014.I offer three choices: Good, Fast, & Cheap. Reply:I must say guys, I agree. I finally used some today just screwing around with a new machine, and it is crap. Unstable arc, flux is crap, everything. I called the salesman and told him I'd ship the rest back to him along with his hats and tshirts. He said that's ok, you don't have to do that. So the new guy got to run a couple boxes of that crap for practice this afternoonGo Cards!!!!! |
