Reply:I think I can see at least 4 restarts on the root, I think your biggest concern is to tie them in better or do it in one pass.  The fill looks great, cant see if its high or low from these angles but it seems good.Have we all gone mad?
Reply:For being in school it looks fine. And keep practicing your restarts they  are looking real good. You wont always be able to put the root in as a single pass. So take the time now and learn to restart well.
Reply:Your tie-ins are your only hang up. Get in a position that you can make a full pass. other than that it looks great!Air vantage 500 on the 08' KWharris torchesl25 pro suitcasecomletely restored 1969 SA200 redfaceon my 08' duramaxPIMPN AINT EASY
Reply:practice filling the whole joint too. i see you didnt start at the beginning of the joint. If ou have problems burning the edge away use run off run off tabs and get used to starting on your tabs. cut tabs off and bam a perfect start.only thing worse than an ugly woman is an ugly weld
Reply:but yeah like all the ones before said practice restarts till you get to the point you really have to look hard to find your own restarts.only thing worse than an ugly woman is an ugly weld
Reply:He's in school so tell him and me the proper way to do restarts. I was taught start a little past it and back up up to it then take off it works for me but it might not be what is correct or what the OP needs to be doing.
Reply:the biggest thing for me going from welding school to a job was the positions. those look pretty good so try putting them in funny spots in your booth and then weld them up.
Reply:start the electrode ahead of your previous weld about 1/2" long arc it on your way back to the last ripple of your previous weld (dont long arc it more than about a half an inch) make sure its to the ripple not past it at all, by the time you lower your electrode to the last ripple your rod will be burning like it is supposed to be burning then you make contact, pause, then its business as usual. and strike your arc on weld you are about to cover up. because arc strikes are defects. show us some more pics.only thing worse than an ugly woman is an ugly weld
Reply:Greetings, Vlima,Since you mentioned that you are Portuguese, I'm wondering if perhaps you might be able to identify the item in the attached photo.  I think it might be some type of food processor.  It is aluminum and was made in Portugal.  Thanks.By the way... I was surprised to see the large gas cylinder, sitting in the corner without any apparent means to prevent it from tipping over. Attached Images
Reply:If you've been going to school and welding just one month, you're doing very well. Welding is mostly practise and experience. The more practise, the more experience.
