Hey guys, I read that thread and didn't want to contaminate it with my comments....That erickson and erickson is a transformer in an oil bath? holy crap! Have you ever seen a pole mounted oil cooled transformer blow up? I have!Wow, when you ignite oil.....How has nobody ever been hurt by one of these things? I have never seen one. That is a neat idea, till it fails, I guess. And what sicko painted a Lincoln John Deere green?????????????RED. It's RED. Well, except in the Navy, they paint everything gray. Then I guess, it's ok, cuz those guys are defending my country. But green? Seriously? Reply:Oil cooled welders are highly regarded in the UK. Apparently they don't have the problems high voltage transformers do. No fan/dust/insect issues and excellent cooling would be strong points.http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/index.php
