here is my bike i am building. i did all of the fab work on it myself. there is still some more to do, but its enough to give the overall look at the style of what the finished bike will look like. this is my first bike i have ever fabricated. i have learned a lot, and realize i have even more to learn! i hope this is the first of many builds to come. i really enjoy doing this stuff. please feel free to make comments-but as always with this stuff, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. this is truely a garage built chop. i taught myself what i know(id be more than open to outside help though to learn more), i built it in my parents garage and used some crude but effective methods to compensate for certain tools i have yet to purchase. its light, clean, and personally i feel it has some sense of style and pleasing lines. i am also looking for a magneto. if anyone has one they want to sell please let me know, thanks!!!!! Reply:Nice. The motor looks like a pan/shovel I think harley made them that way a couple of years when the shovel first came out. Are you going to go with an open primary belt or you just don't have the case on yet. Are you going to stick with that suicide shifter looks alittle close to the pipe (hot). Since it's a hard tail get a kidney belt
Reply:Very nice, I like the old springer front hard tails. I had one a long time ago and loved it.DanWeldPro LS160PForce Cut LP80D
Reply:i know notta about motorcycles and im kinda scared of thema little bit. but ive been thinking about building one, riding it around town a little bit and selling it. does anyone think there is any kind of decent $$ in doing that? not to take anything away from the guys who do this like the chopper shows on tv....but they look pretty easy to build. i have done work on other ppls choppers before and it almost seems to me that if you have a motor to use you can just build the bike around it....thoughts?only thing worse than an ugly woman is an ugly weld
Reply:That's really a good looking machine.  I remember when you first started it.  It's really coming along. So, like where do ya put the babe???"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:very nice! i love the style of the bike. finish the fabrication, dont bother grinding the welds, then put a coat of clear coat on it. that would look sweet.

Reply:Cool, Chop!I love this stuff. Creating bikes. Checking out other people's ideas that they've turned into reality. It takes guts and a lot of patience and persistence. Keep it up.Here's a few pics of my long time race partner and my latest ground up build. It was featured in last August's issue of American Iron, without the upper fairing. Reply:Hey where are you located?  You look familiar. Nice bike
Reply:I like your bike and really admire people who build their own.  I have one comment on the frame though.  Did you do any calculations on the stresses for the steering head (I'm not sure of the terminology)?  That single pipe weld to the tube where your steering bearings sit looks a lttle scary.  I really think that the downtubes on the front of the frame should be tied the the bottom of the head tube in addition to being tied at the top.  I am not throwing stones in any way.  Like I said, I really admire people who have the motivation and skill to build something like this.  I just was pointing out one spot that seems like a weakness that could be a catastrophic failure.  Ride safe,Rene
Reply:im from springdale arkansas. anyways, on the frame. there was no neck on it when i bought it (got a good deal though!)...the neck i chopped off of my sporty. i have yet to fab. a gusset for it, which when i do will put the strength back into it. this is my first build. its alot of fun!
