2" x 4 1/4" Auto Lens

Does anyone use an auto darkening lens in place of a fixed shade for the 2" x 4 1/4" standard shields? A friend let me use his a couple of months ago when we were working at an oil refinery and it worked great (can't remember the brand). There are a few brands you can choose from and some are more reliable than others. I haven't been able to find any forums with feedback on the different models, price range, etc. although I can say you're better off using a fixed shade over any of the 2x4 1/4 auto darkening lens made in china LolSome brands I have seen online that make these are ArcOne, Jackson, Miller, Optrel Nova Sperian, Huntsman, RadnorAny reviews are welcome!
Reply:Yes, I use one in my Huntsman 711p. It is an ArcOne insert #10 with an additional #1 shade and a #2 magnifier. Reply:I have the Huntsman Solera 10/11 shade..works flawless..only problem i ever had was when it sat in my lunchbox for a few months i had to let it sit out in the sun for a few hours to charge up.I'm an International Ironworker and mostly work Nuclear power plants anymore and they was givin these out a few years ago,i keep it as a back up incase my Speedglas or Jackson NextGen goes on the south on me...these are great little lenses.Shop around,i think i've seen them on ebay and other places for around 30-40.00. Reply:I have two of the Millers, made by Colts. The only gripe I have is that they cycle on when I'm grinding. I think they must trigger by magnetic field or something because they do it with my wire wheel too.
Reply:I have the huntsman solera also shade 11. I really dont care for it that much it doesnt seem to change dark fast enough and its also coming apart, probably only 6 months or so old but my sensors are different then fabcrazyguy they are all to one side.
Reply:Ok thanks for the replies.. Seems like there are some mixed reviews on the huntsman series. I was thinking about going with a miller. I have a miller elite and never had any problems but its a pain in the @ss carrying it around everywhere.
