Built a rotisserie a few years ago for a frame-off restoration of my 67 GTO. Made it mostly from pieces I had around the shop. Acquired some old cooling tower bearings from work and made a couple shafts on the lathe. Car spun like a top and the rotisserie never even grunted. Attached Images
Reply:I don't know why but I was expecting something on a BBQ cooking not a 67 GTO. I can just imagine Sam poking it with a fork to see if it is done.Nice 67 GTO , My brother use to have a 68 GTO Judge.Co-Own CNC shop:Miller :1251 plasma cutter, MaxStar 700 TIG/Stick, & XMT 456 Multiprocess Welder.& 2 Hypertherm HPR260's Plasma CutterSorry I had a bad stroke but now I am back.

Reply:Hello WFM, Really great job from start to finish, You can be truly proud of your skills, Nice looking workshop too, who did the graphics on the bonnet(hood)? Cheers Gordon
Reply:I have owned this car since 1975. Paid $175 for it. I used to work as a mechanic in high school and college. I did all the work including the paint except for the trunk graphic and installing the upholstery on the seats. The trunk graphic was done by local artist Dave Webster, www.thikskin.com . The 455 engine makes around 450 HP. The underneath is painted as nice as the top. I take it to car cruises around Pittsburgh. It gets a lot of attention. There is always someone who used to have, knew someone who had, or rode in a mid 60's GTO when they were younger. Attached Images
Reply:WFM:Awesome restoration job! Didn't they also bring out a version with an overhead cam six cylinder called the Sprint or something like that. Like everyone else I had a friend that had one and as I recall the "Sprint" went like a scared rabbit.....Spectre:I was expecting the same thing as you......If WFM needs a fork next time he uses it I have a hay fork that should about do the job.....Sign on East Texas payphone: Calls to God 40 cents......it's a local call... |
