I've been reading alot of posts where you experienced guys say you drag 7018. In my limited experience, I've had much better beads by pushing the rod. Is it better to use the drag method, or is this a do what works best for you situation?I don't want to learn bad habits early on.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum
Reply:You really should drag, the "reason" behind it is to prevent slag entrapment. It becomes natural with practiceGive me fuel, give me fire, give me that which I desire.
Reply:Vertical you'll push it uphill of courseWelding/Fab Pics: www.UtahWeld.com
Reply:I agree with both posts above. When pushing vertical up the puddle is still behind the electrode which prevents the aformentioned slag entrapment. Marc
