Hello everyone this is my first post here in the welding fourms. My question is I started building a set of headers for a car.I`m using .065 304 stainless.Should I use the 1/8 or the 3/32 tungstun red type.On filler should i use the 1/16 or use some .035 stainless welding wire.I have tryed the 3/32 tungstun with the 1/16 filler but the color is a dark grey look. Some I beleive it`s too much heat.I`m using strait argon and 20 on the gauge for pressure. Thanks againTonyP.S.I follow what Zap says by brushing, and solvent use.Tony
Reply:Tony..Myself I'd go with the .035 wire and a 1/16" Red tungetion..Small cup and 20 SCFH gas...Try to "fuse tack" the tubes together and if all is nice and tight You can fuse the whole assy together with little problems...If not the small wire 308 will be good..Depending on the inital fit it can be done...Keep everything clean and go for it!...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
