what am i to look for in the puddle? i get the watch the puddle and about 10mm behind but wht exactly am i looking for?
Reply:Are you asking about MIG, Stick or TIG ?John - fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!- bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:What welding process, TIG?I think you look at the puddle diameter to judge your heat, how far it melts one side or the other, is it centered on the joint, is it big enough to dab your TIG filler into it?Look at the arc length between the weld and electrode, in TIG, Stick, and MIG.
Reply:mig. i thought u were supposed to look at the pretty blue light?Last edited by LSX89RS; 02-21-2007 at 07:08 PM.
Reply:You want to keep a constant puddle when moving right to left or left to right. Quick skinny, If the puddle is in view while in motion odds are your weld is penatrating and smooth. If you move to fast (not letting your puddle develop) you will have lumpy welds and not a solid run. Originally Posted by LSX89RSmig. i just dont exactly know what to look for |
