I am a welder but no experience in Tig welding. The company I work for does mainly structural welding but is now going to be braching out & going to be in need of tig welding for pipe. Can anyone give me some advice on a good tig torche model 150-200amp & any other equipment I might need , I don't need top of the line but don't mind spending the money for quality. I would appreciate any help, Thank you
Reply:For portability look at the Miller Dynasty 200SD or 200DX. Great price and decently light for carrying around.John - fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!- bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:A large 250+ tig is great for just about anything. Sometimes the 200 amp models dont have enough umph for thicker materials. I have a lincoln and am pleased with it as long as I dont get to crazy on the thickness. It is nice and small, and very portable. It only draws like 30 amps at its max output, which is real nice for us home owners and hobbiests. It stick welds excellent as well.Various GrindersVictor Journeyman torch200cf Acet. 250cf oxygenLincoln 175 plus/alpha2 gunLincoln v205t tigLincoln 350mpEsab 650 plasmaWhen you can get up in the morning, Its a good day.Live each day like its your last. |
