Business logo

My wife and I designed a logo for my side business. Good thing somebody in the family knows computers. Took a few days of me changing my mind every thirty minutes but here it is. Attached ImagesShake and Bake
Reply:Always a hard thing to do - be objective about your own logo.You'll need a simpler version of it. It looks good in colour at a decent size on a computer screen, but sometimes it might appear in black and white. Or smaller. Or on a t-shirt. Or you might want to get it air brushed somewhere. Know what I mean?The best logos are usually only one or two colours and very simple.

Reply:nice logo, but may i suggest something?like said above, id make it black and white. that way it can be printed on anything with no problems.id also  try to get a actual logo in EPS format so it can be scaled to all sizes without distortion. because im assuming now you have it saved as a jpeg and itll hardly fit on a properly designed business card without some crazy pixelation.id be willing to help you out if youd like.Last edited by jcrazyjj; 04-15-2009 at 11:42 PM.
Reply:All very good ideas. I thought about the color thing also. Im going to see if the wife can do a black and white thing with it this afternoon. Good point jcrazyjj I think she has the image saved as 4 or 5 different files I will check and see if eps is one of them. Is eps the format that printing companies use??Shake and Bake

Reply:If your wife is using Photoshop you want to make sure she saves a copy in PS format.  Don't keep everything jpeg.  Keep a nice clean original.  JPEG file format compresses the image so it saves space, with this you lose quality.  This loss of quality will affect printing big time, you will notice a lot of "fuzz" around the image.If you are going to be doing printed flyers make sure she remakes the file in 300dpi(600dps would be good, however file would be huge) and in CMYK color format.

Reply:none taken jcrazyjj, the printer(Card Company) pulled everything up on her computer and everything was fine, just had to resize to fit the card. I guess if some printing companies cant convert simple home designs to cards, they dont need to be in business.Shake and Bake
