1: Rocker arms off the new Honda 700 sport quad. Orig plated, looks like chrome approximately .003 inch thick. 2: Ground off plating. 3: Welded with OA powder torch, powder rated 38-45 RC. 4: Rough grind with 4 1/2 flapwheel. 5: Pads finish ground. Attached Images
Reply:Side view of rocker pad shows weld thickness, approx .030 inch of hardweld. While I was grinding I turned off coolant so the heat would color the steel of the rocker (for pic). Hardweld stays silver with heat. Customer had a custom cam ground and it required using some high rate springs. These springs will cause wear through stock plating and ruin cam and rockers.Peter Attached Images
