I recently bought a Miller Super S 32 P suitcase to run on my Lincoln SA 200.  It came with a crappy 5/64 flux only stinger which I threw away.  I have a Bernard gun now set up for .045  and was wondering if I could use the 5'64 knurled drive rolls to run the .045.  I have run .040 solid wire with .045 rolls and .045 with .035 rolls.  Just wondering if anyone has tried it.
Reply:I haven't tried it, but I probably wouldn't. The S-32P uses cheap enough rolls, Miller series 50's. I'd just get the right ones. My S-32P has been giving me fits with the stupid knurled rolls. I am going to switch to U-groove or regular V-groove rolls for my .045 flux core. The 1/16 VK rolls act just fine. It is the .045's that are birdnesting and cutting the wire something fierce.
Reply:I just came off a job where the welder had a S 32 and used regular vgroove rolls.  Did a hell of a lot of welding with no problems.  All flux core.
Reply:Yeah, I've recently run a ton of .035 NR211 with my S-32P with V-groove rolls. Never had a problem....well except for the time I forgot to engage the lower roll after changing wire.   Sure save on wire like that.
