Hi.  i just introduced myself in the introduction section.tonight i made my first custom piece that actually turned out very nice.I've been looking at the ram mount for my gps for a long time, but never could quite afford it.    and tomorrow i'm going on a ride, and since i get lost within 1mile of my house without my tomtom, i had to figure something out quick.so i came up with this.  the paint is just temporarily. i'll sand it back down and do a better job on it, but for tomorrow it'll be fine.it has a ball swivel on it, fits very tight on the handle bar, and overall, is actually extremely well fit and like 1/4 the price of the ram mount.
Reply:That mount should work fine , i made one similar for my atv.You probably won't get as much vibration as i do.Lincoln 225 ACLincoln Mig Pak 15Lincoln Mig Pak 10Purox Oxy-Acet Outfit20 Ton PressHonda Generator
Reply:That looks good.  Welcome to the forum! Lots going on here, enjoy yourself.I'm a little jealous. I had a scooter once, too. But after two ex-wives, four kids and six grandkids, scooters are in my past. I still have a couple of pics tho! I bought this one as a basket case, in boxes, after the owner hit a car head on. I had to replace the frame and front end. The frame I used was a 1965 juice, I had to build and weld all the tabs for the fat bobs and floor boards for it. The previous owner had cut them off for a chop. I dressed the Harley welds and filled and smoothed the frame before paint. This motorcycle had been built by the oldest Harley dealer in the State of Texas at Bigsprings from spare parts he had in storage. ( I found out much later) It was titled as a 1959, but the only '59 parts were the rear wheel and transmission. What I ended up with was a 1953 bottom end, 1978 top end & a 1973 wide glide on a '65 frame. The handle bars, tanks, fenders, head light, tail light and speedometer are after market. The suicide shift and Fairbanks-Morse magneto came with the basket. The paint is Krylon epoxy from Wally World. If you look at the fat bob in one of the photos you can see me and a buddy, and my brother taking the picture. The motor stand in another photo is one I built, too. That's my 40th BD photo, just to put this into perspective, I turned 59 day before yesterday! Yeah, I'm a little jealous!  Attached ImagesOnly when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.                                         -Cree Indian ProverbSA 200 LincolnVictor Torches
Reply:thanks. i got to try it yesterday on a 140mile ride, and it worked just fine.  held in place, didn't cause any vibrations, and overall did what little responsibility it had to take care of. LOLhey gizzardguts.........find yourself some parts and throw em back together so you got 2 wheels under ya.  gotta get out and enjoy life. the bills, and dishes will still be there when you get back. but if you die tomorrow, i bet you'd wish you would have went out for some relaxation instead of doing the dishes.as much work as i do around the house with being a stay at home dad, maintaining our vehicles (i'm a mechanic), etc...... sometimes if the weathers right and things work out, i just have to say i'll do the dishes later.
