Nice video.  Good application of heat sink fixturing to weld the foil. And the blades in the video are much thinner than the utility knife blade I welded.  http://www.weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread...ighlight=razor
Reply:Interesting idea how he just runs it across the metal, almost like an iron.John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:But he won't tell you his settings either..Looks like I have some playing around to do..again.... ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Glad to see this peaked your interest.I may have to try it as well.
Reply:OMG.  I am trying that tonight.

Reply:For the single-edge razor blades (the ones I have are about 0.20 thick), set at about 15 amps for a start. Remember that the sharp edge will break down a lot faster than you think.
Reply:Hmm,  I always set it like 5-12amps when I did mine in college.  It all matters on how quickly the razor tapers back and how thick it gets I suppose.

Reply:I went Youtube surfing for a bit and turned this up, no affiliation nor spam intended.Quite the sweat shop, if you ask me!City of L.A. Reply:Weird hood.  I'd be interested except I wouldn't want that strap on my chin all day long.  And on top of it I have had my jaw broken in two places and the muscles underneath my jaw cramp real bad when I do any type of strain of them from the muscles and nerves getting severed from the compound fracture.Damn i'd hate working at that place.  It is just too fast paced.  The foreman there probably carries a whip.  I work at my own pace and I get more done than most and I never move like that.

Reply:I never understood why people with long hair like that let it hang out when welding.  I burn my head enough as it is with a buzzed head and a welding cap and in that video he has no welding cap and sparks flying above his head.

Reply:I always wondered why my mother was saving all that aluminum foil...she was secretly welding it back together for the next family get-together.What I want to see is someone who can weld gift wrapping paper back together.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.

Looks like by about 1.5.Determined by measuring a) the sway rate of the curtain between him and the other guy, and b) rate of spark falling on each side. (yes, I have a life, but I also have software for doing these measurements. Took all of 15 sec)
