Brazing Aluminized Steel

I came across some aluminized steel pipes and was wondering if it's possible to braze them to, say, regular aluminum pipes.  The aluminized steel has a aluminum coating which apparently needs to be ground off before welding, so I'm thinking it would be possible given the right brazing rod (like silver solder?? ).
Reply:Here we go again.   Cronatron offers a couple types of wire that allow soldering/brazing aluminum to steel.In thin sections such as tubing wall, and subject to vibration, IMHO, it will crack in your application (I'm assuming it's either intake or exhaust for automotive).Still working on a way to do this but I'm also starting to give up. The more I learn about it the more I realize that people who know way more than I ever will have tried to come up with a suitable method and/or tried to make a suitable filler alloy and pretty much failed miserably.   It does seem to be getting closer though so maybe soon enough someone will figure it out.How about weld an aluminum flange on the aluminum and a steel flange on the (cleaned of al cladding) steel and bolt it up tight.  Bingo, a strong steel to aluminum joint. Reply:Or just weld it? I've welded aluminized steel before and I don't recall ever grinding off the aluminum to weld it? maybe I'm missing something here?
