Can't remember how I ended up with this stainless bar stock, but put it to good use on a new toolbox I built, OK, so there is some woodworking here...anyway, here's the process and the results.Jig made t hold the parts in alignment and exact spacing to make them all the sameTo be continued......
Reply:The final result
Reply:Toolbox looks great. But I love that jig!
Reply:Nice work, I would be scared to get it dirty
Reply:Very nice work! I like the way you set up the jig. What kind of wood did you use on the box itself? Pine? Beech? Mahogany would be way expensive, and you'd never want to use it ....
Reply:SpyGuy--the wood is oak plywood, nothing special, the same stuff you can get at Home Despot or Blows. The drawers are 5 ply birch it makes great drawer material, no gaps dead flat, strong and easy to work. The blue material was some surplus formica, it is glued to MDF both sides then framed in oak. And of course 100 lb ball bearing slides.
Reply:Very cool .... Again, great work. |
