I got a job in my shop. They shipped me a length (20'1") of schedule 10 8" stainless. 2 flanges and an elbow. I had to make an 8' X 12' elbow out of it. Squaring was a little tough since there is no corner. I used a tape measure and level. Welding the flanges on was easy, the last part of the elbow was in place. I don't know what you call it, 6g? I used 308LSI because that is what the LWH had.The question is how long should it take? That and 2 vents took me about a day. Flanges were put on with 2 holes level on both ends. When we loaded the pipe on the truck, I lined it up with the cab protector and side of the bed. It was square according to the truck. These VENTS are schedule 40. All they carry is air. I used the positioner for the vents but not the 8" piece. Thanks DavidLast edited by David R; 10-19-2011 at 01:33 PM.Real world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Not sure if you had them but adjustable pipe stands make this a lot easier. Two long straight edges and a square work pretty well for alignment.DanLast edited by DanD78; 10-19-2011 at 04:03 PM.

He is in his second year of trade school welding. While laying on my back welding overhead where I could not see (stupid) I blew a hole in the joint. Today I asked the customer if it was OK, he said as far as he knew yes.Hope I get more.DavidBuilding a BBQ grill starting tomorrow. Today I got 2 sheets of 1/8" 304 stainless and 2 lengths of angle.
