Well finally got my argon. Here's my first Tig weld. Critique away.Settings were:1/16 Thoriated tungstenflow 20L/Hr60 amps1/4" mild steel with a 90deg fit.sorry about pic quality. Looks beter in person.Ya and I know I need to clean the steel.My Photos on Flickr
Reply:Looks really good. Most go too hot or too slow. I think you got it!They all look better right after you are finished. Once on camera enlarged bigger than life, they seem to loose something.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.

But there is room for improvement...Practice and patience will be good to you..Keep it up! ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:wildcat,i think that is very good tig work,you have used the edges on both sides perfectly,and your weave looks very neat and uniform if you got that result with dirty metal,it can get even better cleaned. pipefitter
