im going to be tig welding some 1/4 in mild steel benches..(powerlifting benches) now i know i should just arc weld them together for time purposes..however im making them for personal use and really love the way that tig comes outso now my question is what kind of filler rod should i be using in the application?..
Reply:er70s6 is plenty strong enough.  The tensile strength will be way beyond the mild steel your using.Various GrindersVictor Journeyman torch200cf Acet. 250cf oxygenLincoln 175 plus/alpha2 gunLincoln v205t tigLincoln 350mpEsab 650 plasmaWhen you can get up in the morning, Its a good day.Live each day like its your last.
Reply:Yep!70-S anything is good..Its the 70 that countsJust be sure not to leave any exposed corners where tubing meets tubing..Thats where the cracks start.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:very good...we have a 1000+ bencher on the team and i wouldnt want to disapoint him with a inferior bench
