help welding carbon steel

in need of some help can i use these bends for turbo manifolds Carbon Steel S235 Pipe Fitting ,1 1/4 think its 3 mm thick mybe more heres some pictures of it also argon gas can be used when tig welding and whats the best filler rod to use ?looking to make up a turbo manifold [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]
Reply:What type engine/application is this going to be for? 1 1/4 " sounds kind of small for any kind of engine that would accept a turbo set up. Is this to go on the side between the engine exhaust and turbo, or between turbo and intake? Or possibly both?

Reply:S235 is European for 'mild steel'.  Since this is new construction, I would clean well and use 70S-2.  If I saw a lot crap it the puddle I would switch to 70S-6.As for tubing size, on naturally aspirated engines, 1.5" diameter is about right for 50hp, 4 stroke cylinder.  So about 200hp maximum.  With a boosted engine, I suspect you can go a bit higher.  Boosted engines tend to have higher exhaust temperatures.  the high exhaust temperature means speed of sound is higher and thus you can move the air molecules faster before you hit boundaries (and turbulence).Con Fuse!Miller Dynasty 350Millermatic 350P-Spoolmatic 30AMiller Multimatic 200Hypertherm PowerMax 1000G3Miller Maxstar 200DX

Reply:Those pipe parts will be very heavy. You can also purchase premade mandrel bends in stainless tubing with different wall thicknesses.AWS certified welding inspectorAWS certified welder
