Any good ideas on different ways to store C-Clamps?
Reply:Years ago I made a clamp rack on wheels. It was 4' long and 2' wide at the base. It was 4'-6" tall and tapered to 4' long by 8" wide at the top. Think of a tall narrow a-frame, or trapezoid. It had several rows of 1/2 sq. bar on each side to hang the clamps on. In the center of the bottom I took a piece of 4" channel 4' long and placed it in the center flanges up. I had divided the narrow top with more sq. bar. This was where we stored all our pipe clamps. Drop them in from the top and the channel caught the bottom. I used 4 casters, 2 fixed ones mounted in the center and 2 swivel ones on the ends, that way it could be spun around inside it's own length. It could hold well over 100 C,G clamps, vice grips, bar clamps and about 2 dozen pipe clamps. It was super handy to be able to drag the whole mess of clamps to anywhere you needed them.Brian LeonardAppalachian Ironworks L.L.C.434 Long Branch Rd, Marshall, NC 28753828 649 9966828 702 [email protected]

Reply:Here is an idea, it has served me well, if you do something like this and it is over head weld a washer on the end so they don't slide off.

Reply:I just clamp most of my clamps to the ceiling (floor) joists. They take up no space, but are always handy when I need them.Midwest Metal ProductsMetal Wire Forming Fan Guards Delta-Larm
Reply:Jack, your workbench is nauseatingly clean - do you detail that with a toothbrush or something ?????? I only wish I could have a workspace that looks like that .... Mine looks more like Samm's and gclamp's thrown together, with a grenade tossed in for good measure. Sooner or later I'll find my workbench again ....All my clamps are (mostly) currently residing in a canvas tool bag, with the magnets hanging off the side rail of my garage door track.
Reply:All right. All right. When it gets used, it's not so clean. This is what it looks like this week:I'm making my first fence.
Reply:Thanks All,I was hoping to see a rack that held the clamps by the T-handles. I hate adjusting clamps back to the closed position!
Reply:Gate width is 37' with two 14' swing and a 4' walk through. Now I know why I don't build gates for a living!!! The painting kills you. those are Toro mower deck wheels in the middle. They really helped with the weight and stability. Attached Images
