Using Gas instead of electric

I don't have 240 volt yet, but am wanting to start learning how to weld.  The welder is a Weld-pak 155.It's already configured for gas, but how do I start with the gas?  Do I just turn the bottle nozzle and flip the on/off button on the welder and hit the trigger on the gun to start?  Or how would I go about this?Thanks

Reply:You need a flo-meter or flo-gauge on the bottle (cylinder), with the valve turned off.  Open the cylinder and adjust the flow to your desired flo rate (15 to 40 cfh) and weld.   JohnSMAW,GMAW,FCAW,GTAW,SAW,PAC/PAW/OFCand Shielding Gases.  There all here. :
Reply:Another thing to remember is not to be standing over the top of the bottle when you open the valve, although rare, accidents from the jolt of pressure to the gauges can occur.

Reply:Ditto what they said...When you say it is "set up for gas" do you mean it has a gauge and hose on the cylinder and a MIG gun for gas and not a flux gun? Do look at the manual or download one if you don't have it.
