Well finally got to a finished for not point in my welding trailer project.Here are some pics.Its a 5x8 trailer. Trailblazer 275, Aircompressor and Oxy/Ace Tanks are raised from deck to allow for some metal storage if needed. Also added a few leveling jacks if ever needed. Reply:If that trailer has a 3500 lb axle, I'm sure its well under it's limits. Reply:Good looking trailer and setup. Looks like you put a little thought into it. Should serve it's purpose well. Reply:Got a question about your lead reel. I see that you have an isolating block (kitchen cutting board?) but how are you keeping the bolts isolated? Do you have rubber washers?It's not what you can buy, it's what you can build.

Reply:That is one nice set up. You have made good use of every inch and the raised deck for the metal is a good touch. I am glad I seen this thread. We are about to make a welding trailer and our plans are 6X10. I can see now I'll be able to use the extra 2 feet, but ofcourse that is like building a garage....they are never big enbough.

Reply:I am actually probably going to change the axle and will do the shackle links then If I have this loaded I can already tell I could benefit from elec brakes so I am going with a 5000# axle setup with elec brakes soon It seems to handle well but I think the ride during braking would be better. Reply:Nice looking trailer. I would check the weight capacity of the tires also.
Reply:Trailers always seem to ride best at 75-80% spring capacity. Keep that in mind. Too heavy of springs and it will be a rough ridin SOB. I would suggest running it across a scale as is before making any changes.
