I was wondering if anyone had attempted to try something different than the old standard (drawer bottom on side rails).I'm thinking of breaking a strip of 16 gauge into a kind of v shape and welding and then the drawer would rest on a ball bearing that would slide in the v and a stop at the end of the v would keep the ball bearing from falling out.Has anyone seen this or other ideas? I'd much rather not have to buy drawer slidesPower of Blue Baby!
Reply:I used a cut down set of roller lifters (350 SBC) as rollers on a chip tray and a tooling tray. On the tray I ran it on a 2" angle iron with a bolt to stop it and a guide on top to prevent tipping. You'd have to get creative with it to have a drawer that would fully extend. Here's a pic of what I did.Last edited by SWells; 09-04-2009 at 11:09 PM.If you don't want to stand behind our Troops, feel free to stand in front of them.
Reply:nice.  I'm thinking tabs on the drawer bottom to prevent it from rolling completely out. There's not really any need to have the drawer extend totally out.  Nice tray though.Power of Blue Baby!
